Clear Rock is pleased to announce that Steve Hostetter has joined us as Director, Retail Markets. Steve brings years of experience as an executive in the convenience store and bulk petroleum industry. "We are quite pleased to be able to bring Steve on to the team at Clear Rock. We are acutely interested in transactions in the convenience store industry, and Steve's experience and depth of knowledge are unparalleled." Steve has worked his way from an entry level position with the industry leader, Sheetz, to COO at a 220+ store chain. Steve will be working with Clear Rock on generating deal flow, as well as advising on market conditions, competitive advantages, and deal strategy. Steve went right into convenience stores straight from school. He started at an entry level position with the industry leader Sheetz, Inc., spending 10 years working his way through the ranks to Director level. He then pruchased his own oil distributorship in Florida, worked it for 5 years, built two stores and sold it. Leaving Florida he joined the Circle K company in Phoenix, AZ. Steve began his career with Circle K running 125 stores in the city of Phoenix. After John Anitioco became President and COO of Circle K, he introduced a new manangment style of meritocracy. Steve flourished in this environment, quickly moving throught the ranks to Regional Director of Marketing over 393 stores, then on to Division President, after an ardous selection process. He reported directly to the Chairman of the Board. Following an IPO and subsequent hostile takeover by TOSCO, Steve left Circle K along with many of his contemporaries at the time. After a short stint in London working with the Shell company through a consulting arrangement, he joined Kangaroo Convenience Stores, a north Georgia regional chain in need of an overhaul. Working closely with the owner, Steve revitalized the chain which three years later was sold to the Pantry, Inc. for an extremely high return to the owner. Steve then moved on to become COO of DB Marketing , a 220 store New England chain, where he spent five years prior to joining Clear Rock Associates. Steve lives in Dacula, GA., a suburb of Atlanta, with his wife Rhonda, son Andrew, and step-daughter Cara. He is 49 years old and love playing golf, and watching his son play baseball. Clear Rock Associates is a middle market investment banking boutique with a focus on mergers and acquisitions advisory.
