How Has the (Threatened) Owner/Operator Strike Affected You?

Posted by Dan Doran in Transportation AcquisitionsPrinting

Here at Clear Rock - we find ourselves at an interesting intersection in re: the psuedo-strike being staged by the Owner / Operators.  Not only do we have a segment focus in transportation and logistics, but we keep hearing from the print industry (another segment we focus on) how slowdowns are affecting their operations as well.

Want more?  We aren't all that far from the New Jersey Turnpike, which was a pretty bad scene last week as truckers slowed down to 20 mph to show support for the strike.  (For those not familiar with the Turnpike, that's about 80mph slower than the usual cruising speed). Some of us got caught in the tail end of that jam- thankfully diverting to an exit before becoming fully committed to hours of traffic.

So we'd like to know: what's your take?  Have you been feeling any pain or fall-out from this event?  Do you support the owner operators?  And what effect might it have: more good than harm, or more harm than good?

Shoot us an email- we'd like to publish some feedback from the industry.
